Remember that KISS song “Rocket Ride”? Not one of their best. But it’s better than “Rocket Man” – “Mars ain’t the kind of place to raise the kids. In fact it’s cold as hell. And there’s no one there to raise them, if you did.” If you did? If you did what? What the hell was Bernie Taupin trying to say? Of course everybody loves “Space Oddity” compared to that! But the best Rocket Song is without a doubt Guns N’ Roses’ “Rocket Queen”! Especially at the very end when Axl tells us “All I ever wanted was for you to know that I caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare!” Except for The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame – Axl don’t give a fuck about that shit and that’s why he’s The Best!

Yeah, Rocket Queen is the best. I should add some GnR to my cover collection. There was a guy who played the open mike circuit around here – had some kind of mental issue and had these low gravelly vocals – he used to cover “Patience.” But because of his condition “All we need is just a little patience” came out in a very demanding, impatient way.

Maybe Ralph Kramden could have covered that song. “Jesus Christ Alice… all you need is just a little patience! One of these days….”

“Patience” is as great as “Rocket Queen”. I’ve been listening to “Chinese Democracy” a lot and I’m genuinely pleased with Axl’s resonse to that gay ass Hall Of Fame. Bob Pollard has a Boston Spaceships song where he sings “She likes Guns N’ Roses. She says Axl’s all right” Fuck, yeah!
