Smell you later

Here’s a fascinating little science tidbit I just stumbled across:

Male Body Odor Can Stink Like Urine Or Have A Pleasant Vanilla Smell, Depending On One Gene

To many, urine smells like urine and vanilla smells like vanilla. But androstenone, a derivative of testosterone that is a potent ingredient in male body odor, can smell like either – depending on your genes. While many people perceive a foul odor from androstenone, usually that of stale urine or strong sweat, others find the scent sweet and pleasant. Still others cannot smell it at all.

This seems a bit related to the topic of pheromones — chemical messengers a person can give off that can, in theory, arouse potential sexual partners. I can recall one girlfriend I had who seemed to be genuinely in love with my smell — so much so that I wondered if she was unaware of my other desirable traits: good looks, keen intelligence, a long phallus etc. On the flipside, I had a girlfriend who dumped me, and while I never heard directly from her, I got it from third parties that she complained about my smell. Stupid whore!

I’ve been frequently told that I smell “Soap-y”.
